Wild Horses

Lyrics: Jagger, Richard
Music: Jagger, Richard

Played by Jerry with Old And In The Way, following the Rolling Stones' version pretty closely. Also played by Luther Dickinson with Phil Lesh and Friends, in November 2013 as part of their (and American Jubilee's) cover of the album "Sticky Fingers".

Childhood living
Is easy to do
The things that you wanted
Well I bought them for you

Graceless lady
You know who I am
You know I can't let you
Slide through my hands

Chorus
Wild horses
Couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses
We'll ride them some day (note 1)

I watched you suffer
A dull aching pain
And now you've decided
To show me the same

No sweeping exits
Or off-stage lines
Could make me feel bitter
Or treat you unkind

[chorus]

I know I've dreamed you
A sin and a lie
Now I have my freedom
But I don't have much time

Faith has been broken
Tears must be cried
Let's do some living
After we die

[chorus]
Wild, wild horses
We'll ride them someday
Notes
(1) Jerry sings this line each chorus. In the original Stones' version, "Couldn't drag me away" is repeated for the first two choruses, with "We'll ride them some day" only sung in the third chorus.
