Throw Me A Bone

Lyrics: Earl Stillson
Music: David Nelson

This from a 2000 interview with David Nelson:

"I did play [Jerry Garcia] my songs years before that. In 87, when he got out of the hospital, I went over to his house. I had made a demo tape of Yvonne, No Souvenirs, The Wizards Son, See So Far and one called Throw Me a Bone that we never recorded. I played it for him and he dug it. He said I should do something with it."
Lyrics:
I'm that dog in the junkyard and I need a good home
I'm already house-broken, I'm already grown
I'm already hungry and I'm down to skin and bones
Come on woman, throw me a bone

You can trust me, I'm your typical mutt
I'm easy to please but I bleed when I'm cut
Don't try to tease if you can't take me home
Come on woman, throw me a bone

I'm looking for a woman who got something to say
Looking for someone who won't let me stray

Throw me a bone, woman, throw me a bone
Ain't no good reason to be sitting alone
I make you smile while I make you moan
Come on woman, throw me a bone

I'm looking for someone who'll take me out to play
Looking for someone who won't let me stray

I'm sniffing round your bushes, I'm digging up your lawn
Howling at your window from midnight till dawn
Scratching at your back door with a heavy [moan]
Come on woman, throw me a bone

Throw me a bone, woman, throw me a bone
Ain't no good reason to be sitting alone
I make you smile while I will make you moan
Come on mama, throw me a bone
