Played by Kokomo, with Brent Mydland and Bill Kreutzmann, in 1985. Any help with these lyics gratefully received.
The title given in setlists is "Is It Silver Or Gold", though it sounds to me as if what is sung is "Is It Silver And
Gold".
I walk all day, trying to find work
I [?] nightime, hungry [?]
Got to swallow my pride for some money
Being satisfied sweeping the floor
Is it broken glass
Is it silver and gold
Is it busting my ass
Mister, all you can hold
I spent last night sleeping on a park bench
Till a cop came and moved me along
I told him I wasn't bothering nobody
Yes he told me I was too drunk
Is it broken glass
Is it silver and gold
Is it busting my ass
Mister, all you can hold
All my life, I get the same kind of answers
Not now, oh baby, let up
Down to every song you know, all you need of
Guess it's part of this crazy plan
Is it broken glass
Is it silver and gold
Is it busting my ass
Mister, all you can hold
Is it broken glass
Is it silver and gold
Is it busting my ass
Mister, all you can hold
