Lyrics: Dave Margen?
Music: Dave Margen?
Played in the mid 1980s by Kokomo and Go Ahead with Brent Mydland and Bill Kreutzmann and by the
Kreutzmann/Margen Band. It appears in setlists variously as "Girl Like You", "A Girl Like You" and
"With A Girl Like You". I haven't found any evidence of it being played by anyone else, so it's probably an
original. I've guessed at Dave Margen as the author since he played in all three bands.
I can't sing, I can't dance
How come a guy like me got a chance
With a girl like you
With a girl like you
Not much money, fancy charm
How come a guy like me is in the arms
Of girl like you
With a girl like you
Girl like you got them standing in line
One, two, three, four, five at a time
Girl like you is a mystery
Holding me so tight
Making love so right
Making love all night
With a girl like you
I been so [?], I so small
How come a guy like me got it all
With a girl like you
With a girl like you
I [?], no fancy charm
How come a guy like me has his arms
Round a girl like you
Round a girl like you
Girl like you got them standing in line
One, two, three, four, five at a time
Girl like you is a mystery
Holding me so tight
Making love all night
Making love so right
With a girl like you
My [misery's] so strong, oh so strong
How come a guy like me got it on
With a girl like you
With a girl like you
Girl like you got them standing in line
One, two, three, four, five at a time
Girl like you is a mystery
Holding me so tight
Making love so right
Making love all night
With a girl like you
