The Creeper

Lyrics: Grateful Dead
Music: Grateful Dead

The only reference to this song comes from an article on San Francisco Bay Rock in Crawdaddy! magazine in October 1966:

"[The Grateful Dead's] best accomplishments are Pig Pen's gutsy version of Good Morning Little Schoolgirl (with fantastic controlled harp work), The Creeper, Empty Heart, and Smokestack Lightning"
One possible candidate as "The Creeper" is Do You Love Me. It's hard to see how the title fits, though that's true of several other Pigpen songs such as Tastebud - itself another possible candidate. The song Chinatown Shuffle has the lines "Look up at the wall, you know you gotta crawl" which could explain a title "The Creeper" but seems to have been written rather later, in the early 1970s.
