(1) it sounds to me as if Joan Baez sings "unkept hair", but the lyrics on her web-site have "unkempt"
(2) Joan Baez sang these lines with the Dead but not in the version on her album "Live Europe '83"
(3) I normally leave annotations to David Dodd, but for those unfamiliar with Northern Ireland, "The Maze" is the prison where 'political' prisoners are held (and it was the scene of IRA hunger-strikes)
(4) with the Dead, Joan Baez sang "There's a look in the eye of Lady Di, as she stands on the balcony" - though this may have been a mistake
