Festival Express

This is a documentary based on footage shot when the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, The Band and others toured Canada by train in June/July 1970. It was released at the Toronto Film Festival in September 2003, and has subsequently been released on DVD with 50 minutes of additional performances).

The tracks below are the songs on the soundtrack that feature the Grateful Dead or individual members:
Casey Jones (GD studio version, played over opening credits)
Blues Jam (Delaney & Bonney, with Jerry Garcia, Mickey Hart etc)
Don't Ease Me In (Grateful Dead, acoustic)
Friend Of The Devil (Grateful Dead, part of song only) (note 1)
Country Jam (Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Ian Tyson etc)
Jordan (Jerry Garcia & Sylvia Tyson) (note 2)
I Can't Do It Baby (Buddy Guy, Jerry Garcia etc) (note 3)
Ain't No More Cane (Rick Danko, Janis Joplin, Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir etc)
C.C.Rider (Ian & Sylvia with Jerry Garcia)
New Speedway Boogie (Grateful Dead, electric)
Me And Bobby McGee (Janis Jopln, with Jerry Garcia, played over closing credits)
Notes
(1) This is a live version, played on a flatbed truck at a free concert in the park in Toronto.
(2) Listed in the publicity material for the film as "Better Take Jesus' Hand." A second version of this song, sung by John Dawson and other members of the New Riders of the Purple Sage plays over the closing credits.
(3) I'm not sure what this song is. The credits to the film list it as "traditional" - it sounds improvised to me.

The DVD has the following additional tracks featuring the Grateful Dead:
Hard To Handle
Easy Wind
Other Dead songs that circulate as outtakes from the film include Candyman and Brokedown Palace.
