We both spent the morning in frantic attempts to get everything finished, which we just about achieved. And then packing the car - which seemed fully loaded even though it was just the two of us. It took about three goes to work out which way up the roof-rack bag should go - only to discover Roddy had got it right originally.
We finally got away after lunch and drove to Katie's mother's at West Wyalong, about three and a half hours along familiar roads. It was good to catch up with her again, and we had a long dinner - in fact a very long dinner since the restaurant was incredibly slow in spite of not being very full.
On to Day 2
