Sunshine Showers

Lyrics: John Dawson
Music: John Dawson

Played by the New Riders of the Purple Sage in the late 1980s, but not recorded for one of their albums.

Introduced by John Dawson on 20 January 1984:

"Well I have a brother who was crazy enough to get married a couple of years ago. He was even crazier enough to ask me to come and sing at his wedding. So I figured it needed a song. It's called "Sunshine Showers" - which is practically impossible to pronounce as is, much less sing. But we'll try it - here we go. A wedding song - anyone who loves each other, this one's for you."

I love you like a flower in the desert in the springtime
Quickly grows [slow to go] away
Just like a flower in the desert in the springtime
May our love bring us joy today

Sunshine showers and desert flowers
[As we go riding through]
Sunshine showers and desert flowers
Your love is all it [needs to be]

I love you like the sunshine in the desert in the morning
Softly touching everthing you see
Just like the sunshine in the desert in the morning
Your love takes the darkness from me

[chorus]

I love you like the sunlight in the desert in the morning
Softly touching everthing you see
Just like the sunshine in the desert in the morning
Your love takes the darkness from me

[chorus]
[chorus]
Your love is all it needs to be
Sunshine showers and desert flowers
